Still Alive is a journey which sound and lyrics have been shaped by mistakes and learning the ability to create your destiny while experiencing life-changing lessons as a young person.
The 4-track EP comes from a place of honesty and vulnerability. Without being afraid of showing his beautiful scars anymore. Packed with the classic signature North-European sound that elevates pop music into more massive levels of excitement in where emotions can translate even better through their clean but effective productions.
Also, Maximillian’s silky and dynamic voice dressed these new songs like the explosively emotional “Still Alive” or the dreamy and musing “A Drop In The Ocean Blue” flawlessly. Showcasing aptitude and spirit in each one of the tracks included on the homonymous EP.
Although the short duration is one of the advantages of EPs as they are quicker to produce and create, they are also disadvantages as they sometimes fail to transmit all the emotions and to tell the story behind the songs with all the time needed; properly developing a narrative with care and delicacy. That’s why probably two or three more tracks would have made the experience even better.
“When I began working on the ‘Still Alive’-EP, I didn’t know what would happen or what words would come out of my mouth, but I know that I am on a path defining myself. Growing up, I started hanging out with the wrong people, and I’ve seen myself standing at many crossroads in my life. Both in my teens and later also in relationships. I wrote these new songs about both and in the process of finding out who I used to be, who I am today and who I’m going to be.”
